The coast is close, where lays the ultimate portion of the african land, devoted to its history.
And this history was made close by the sea, right next to it. The Mediterranean is all the way waving against the rock which is designing the Cape Bon peninsula, where is located the village El Haouria.
Sparrowhawks owners hunt with falcons sometimes
As long as anyone can remember, this tunisian peninsula welcomes one of the most important lineal of ornithologic migration on earth, from Africa to the north shores of the Mediterranean.
People living here know better than anyone else about birds...
They learned to observe them, to love them, and found out how to have partially control them.

Sparrowhawking is perpetuated, this art of taming wild sparrowhawks to hunt for human.
In june, the last quails gone, they will return free to continue their migration.
The release is a moving moment, the entire village get together for a colorful celebration.
On a village place at Cape Bon
The trainers of the Cape Bon may be the only persons able to succeed in such a performance, in a few weeks, making an adult bird of prey hunting for them.
This special hunt occures in a lowflight or a chase and takes part of the tunisian history, tradition and cultural heritage.

Kings' passion, sport of Lords, Emirs or Pachas ?
Certainly, long ago, a region owned by the Ottoman Empire.
Today, a popular tradition, a certain kind of life, it is the love story between a man and a bird.
Also an oral culture, a hundred of tales and poems that share in a close meeting those who were for a time the sparrow hawk's companions.
